I work for the global community of blind and hard-of-seeing people. I stand side by side with my international colleagues. I care. I Walk4ECF!
Walking has amazing benefits for your health. I try to walk every day, even if sometimes it’s a short distance. I walk alone, with my husband or my friend who lives nearby. I have known the Eye Care Foundation for a long time. They do an excellent job in helping those who indeed need help. I am glad I can contribute by joining them in the Walk4ECF!
I run long distances every week, and I run for ECF every year. Speed walking is something I have never tried before, but it sounds like lots of fun. My colleagues at work and I decided to Walk4ECF on World Sight Day this year. You should definitely join us!
Just in case you have more questions:
Taking part in a walk or a run for a charity means that you demonstrate that you stand for a cause. Our supporters are doing so because they highly appreciate the Eye Care Foundation’s valuable work and understand the importance of creating a world where adults and children alike are no longer limited by preventable blindness and visual impairment.
To participate, you need to sign up by using the registration form. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email that will also include payment details for transferring the minimum donation (a participation fee) of € 50. You will receive our sponsor coach to learn how to raise money for a non-profit effectively. After we receive the donation, your participation is officially confirmed.
The great thing about the walk is the fact that to enjoy it and to succeed in it you don’t need any special training. In case you opt for speed walking, we will provide you with essential training tips and tutorials. We encourage you to follow our social media for more frequent updates.
All funds gathered during the Walk4ECF events will be donated to school children who cannot afford corrective glasses and adults who require cataract surgery in Cambodia, Laos, Nepal, Vietnam, and Tanzania.
